Please join LALS on congratulationg Dr. Xochitl Chávez who has been selected as a University of California President's Postdoctoral Fellow for 2014!
Xochitl received her PHD in Anthropology in Summer 2013. Her dissertation chair was Olga Nájera-Ramirez, committee members were Don Brenneis, Pat Zavella & Jonny Fox.
She is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Smithsonian Institution Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage where she is conducting research on the musical ensembles featured in the Guelaguetza festival.
She'll be working with Deborah Wong at UC Riverside.
